Le Rhun is a charming collection of five self-catering holiday cottages, set on a former cider farm in Brittany in the north west corner of France.
Although the cider orchards have long since gone, the press remains as a centre-piece in the court yard as a reminder of days gone by.
The Bunney family arrived in 2006 and has been taking care of Le Rhun ever since. We know the importance of your holiday, and how precious your time is, so we make sure we go the extra mile to make your stay with us as relaxing and straightforward as possible.
What to expect
on your Le Rhun holiday
Each gite is individual with its own front door. They have all been lovingly converted from farm outbuildings and stores and we have tried to make them a real home from home.
Each gite has a fully equipped, full size kitchen (cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine etc) and a complete complement of pots, pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery. There’s plenty of storage for your shopping.
You’ll find a comfortable lounge with TV and DVD player and a dining table for the family meal, and outside you’ve got your own garden furniture and barbecue grill, with BBQ tools.
The bedrooms will already be made up with crisply pressed fresh linen, fluffy pillows and a selection of towels for everyone.
Roam free!
The chances are that there will be families just like yours in neighbouring gites.
We’re not one of those complexes where everyone is crammed in on top of each other, and you can choose to do your own thing or mix with others, but for the children it’s great to know that there are nearby friends to be made.
We are in a very quiet and secure location, away from roads and traffic.
Children and their new-found friends can wander in complete safety between the sandpit, the swings, the pirate ship, the Look-Out cottage and the toys and games under the barn and they’ll always be within sight of the gites.
The Fairy Glade
Every summer we are lucky to have some visiting fairies stay in our fairy glade.
They are very shy so you won’t see them, but if you look closely you will see the signs. The fairy glade is tucked away waiting to be discovered….

For Toddlers and Babies
We pride ourselves on being baby and toddler-friendly.
The last thing you want to do on holiday is to fill your car up with toddler equipment, which is why we have a comprehensive range that you can borrow.
We have travel cots, high chairs, baby baths, booster seats, step stools, shower supports, microwave sterilisers, bouncer seats, bed guards, fire guards, stair gates, special toilet seats, etc. Just let us know what you want in and we will make sure it’s all set up for you when you arrive!
We’ve even got a range of sit on tractors and toys to play on in the garden as well as a toddler friendly swing.
For Children
There’s loads for our younger guests, including:
- Large wooden toy box and books in every gite
- Our big sandpit with sandpit toys
- Pirate Ship for adventuring
- Look Out Cottage – a mini gite for our younger guests
- Swings and Slides to play on
- A rope bridge
- Games to discover – diabolos, juggling, French boules.
- Fishing nets and buckets to borrow to take rock pooling
- Our magical Fairy Glade – but be quiet or you’ll never see the fairies!
For Older Children
There’s so much to keep your little adults entertained
- Volleyball and Badminton court – help yourselves to bats and balls
- Football and games field
- Mini-football table
- Games and books to borrow under the barn
- Large DVD library – pick a cartoon or film of your choice
- French boules
- Treasure Hunt around the grounds
- Swingball
- Selfie Trail – find the selfie sticks and post your photos on our pages.
For Grown Ups and Families
And for children of every age, from 2 – 102
- Communal barn, including an honesty bar with local beers and wines
- Weekly crepe night
- Heated Swimming Pool – children must be accompanied!
- Outdoor Wooden Games to play
- Woodland Walks
- Picnic basket with blanket and picnic crockery – picnic on site or head to the beach!
- Games and books to borrow – either in the barn or take them back to your gite.
- The Fairy Glade – an enchanted woodland that gets visited by fairies every summer
- DVD library full of family films, cartoons and other favourites
Blue Rhino Hunting
Looking for magic in your everyday ordinary …
Blue rhinos are very rare creatures.
So rare no one has ever seen one…
(We couldn’t say for sure if they are real)
But we are sure the best times are those spent hunting Blue Rhinos 🔷 🦏 🔷.
Look for them in rainbows 🌈,
Flying kites 🪁,
Having breakfast on the beach 🏖️,
Having an indoor picnic tea 🧺,
