Living Area
Etable is our quirky renovated Cowshed in Brittany. It’s perfect for two families holidaying together – or for those who like a bit of space to spread out and relax! It has two separate king size bedrooms each with an adjoining twin bedroom.
Etable was originally the cowshed at Le Rhun, our old cider farm. It was built about 150 years ago, and there is still some evidence of bovine occupation (but we promise the cows are gone now…)!
We’ve kept as many of the original features as we could – the large open-plan ground floor shows off the exposed beams and there is beautiful carved stonework surrounding the wood burning stove.
The lounge area has three comfortable leather Chesterfield sofas, and a window seat, a feature fireplace with wood burner, a TV & DVD player and a Bluetooth speaker.
Kitchen
The spacious kitchen area has a gas range cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, washing machine, tumble dryer, breakfast-bar style worktop and well equipped kitchen cupboards. There is a blender and electric grater and spiraliser, and there’s even an ice crushing machine for long cold summer drinks.
The kitchen has stunning views over the garden and rolling fields down to the woods. We provide cleaning spray, washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, and a bundle of freshly pressed kitchen linens. We also leave tea, coffee, milk sugar, and fresh bread for our guests. And you’ll find a refreshing bottle of Breton cider waiting for you in the fridge too!
Beyond the kitchen, the unique quirky layout of the shower room reveals its former use as the cow shed at Le Rhun…with the 4 old animal pens now housing 2 showers and 2 wcs. Look closely and you will see the ring for tethering the bull still embedded in the wall!
The shower room leads outside with 2 steps up to the garden looking down over the fields to the woods.
We have BBQ tools and grills ready in Etable for use with the stone-built barbecue. The garden has beautiful views over the fields, which often have grasses or even corn planted in them. It’s a cosy little private corner for a picnic, breakfast on the lawn or a lazy sunset suppers and aperitif.
Bedrooms
Turn left or right at the top of the open tread pine staircase, leading from the lounge, and you will enter a light and airy bedroom with comfortable king sized bed.
Each of these two main rooms leads into a twin bedded room each with a wooden chest full of toys and games. They are luxurious comfy beds with plenty of pillows and extra blankets for a good nights sleep.
